NBA 2K21 will be more expensive on PS5 and Xbox Series X, with an upgrade from current-gen systems through Mamba Forever Edition at £84.99 GBP, 2K has confirmed.

The standard version of NBA 2K21 will cost £59.99 GBP on PS4 and Xbox One, and £64.99 GBP, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. 2K prices are based on the fact that “the next-generation version of NBA 2K21 is being built from the ground up for next-generation consoles.”

Furthermore, those who’re looking to start NBA 2K21 on a current-gen system to later want to move over to a next-gen version, will have to pay for the privilege. A free upgrade will not be offered for standard versions of the game, meaning players will have to purchase the £84.99 GBP Mamba Forever instead.

2K advised:
Players who are interested in picking up both versions of NBA 2K21 on either PlayStation or Xbox can check out the Mamba Forever Edition, which provides dual-access by providing purchasers with a copy of the standard edition of NBA 2K21 on the other generation at no additional cost, within the same console family,

2K also said other “initiatives to bridge the two versions of the game” will be offered in the form of MyTEAM cross-progression and a shared VC Wallet between generations of the same platform (PlayStation or Xbox).

NBA 2K21 heads to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia and Windows PC on September 4; followed by a PS5 and Xbox Series X release.
