Games similar to Hearts of Iron?

I checked out Hearts of Iron IV and even tried to play it but it was too complicated for me and I ended up uninstalling the video game. It's war strategy and I love this genre. Do you know any similar games to Hearts of Iron which you could recommend? I also have played Making History: The Great War and it seemed pretty nice till the point I couldn't do anything new there. So, I'm looking for similar games - war strategy. Thank you in advance for the recommendations.

Hearts of Iron looks like an interesting strategy game. I guess something like Rome strategy game or Total War: Three Kingdoms would be similar new interesting games.
