Truzz Trump

Lamar tweet 'Truzz Trump' goes viral, but some are confused about its meaning

BALTIMORE —
"Truzz Trump" doesn't mean what some people are making it out to be.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson tweeted those two words Saturday afternoon in a tweet thread that some people might be taking the wrong way.

NBC Sports Washington reported the thread started when "The Checkdown" tweeted a video of Jaire Alexander's reaction to Jackson's being drafted by the Ravens in 2018. Alexander and Jackson were teammates at the University of Louisville.

The president responded to Jackson's tweet, saying, "Really nice to see this and, what a great pick!"

At that point, really, who could disagree that Jackson is a great pick? So, Jackson tweeted, "Truzz Trump."

But it appears the reaction was mixed.

"I do not belee what I'm seeing," Brett Kollman tweeted.

"Dude careful. You might go further down on people's list for doing that," David Nagy tweeted.

"He's not saying 'trust trump' he's saying 'what trump said is true,'" Tucker tweeted.

Enter a tweet from a Louisville fan to explain:

"For all the 'folk' not 'woke' on slang.... this is what @Lj_era8 was saying.... he agrees it was a great pick and having Jaire support him was good to see Expressionless face see how that works Simma down now! Whew lord," @MattiB84 tweeted.

"Whew," indeed.
