I preferred the alternative eighties; I remember watching VH1 Classic back in the day. The station constantly showed insurance, ringtones and Crazy Frog adverts, then loads of the same music videos, over and over again.

Some of the pop music was excellent, while some of it (including the fashion) was incredibly cheesy. Then YouTube came along.
