Question Xbox series X / PC crossplay

Hi everyone, my son spends a lot of time online with his mates on Xbox1. Now they all want the Series X but I'd rather get him a decent PC. Should we expect universal crossplay between PC and XBox S/X though? I don't want him to miss out on playing with his mates.

It all depends on the games that they play I believe. For example, COD has PC/console cross-play although most people don't like it as they get bunched in with the PC hackers

It’s up to the developer to implement crossplay.

I'm pretty sure Xbox and PC have a strong cross-platform play.
