Xbox Series X and Series S expansion cards will be priced at £159 here in the UK, UK store Smyths had accidently leaked.

UK store Smyths had the expansion card listed for £159, before quickly removing it. Assuming it’s not some sort of mistake, that’s a decent good price for a 1TB expansion card, something that’s going to be all but a necessity with the Xbox Series S, which only has a 512GB internal SSD and no disc drive.

The Xbox Series expansion card is a proprietary piece of hardware, designed by Seagate and plugged into a special slot on the back of either Xbox Series consoles. At present, only a 1TB card has been confirmed.

The Xbox Series X and Series S internal hard drive and expansion card are the only locations where Xbox Series games can be played from. Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games can be stored and played through the USB-powered expansion drives; Xbox Series games can be stored on those same drives, but not played from them.

The Xbox Series X and Series S, alongside new peripherals and this expansion card, head to stores on November 10.
