Xbox Cloud Gaming will offer Xbox Series X games on Xbox One

Xbox Cloud Gaming will offer Xbox Series X games on the Xbox One, Microsoft has disclosed.

The news came from an Xbox Wire post that disclosed plans to stream current-gen titles on last-gen hardware.

Microsoft said:

For the millions of people who play on Xbox One consoles today, we are looking forward to sharing more about how we will bring many of these next-gen games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, to your console through Xbox Cloud Gaming, just like we do with mobile devices, tablets, and browsers.

Microsoft has also confirmed it would bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to PC, consoles and web browsers.

While the ability to play current-gen games on last-gen console seems neat, it’s important to remember the functionality is dependent on one’s network connection.
