Why did they stop making Silent Hill games?

Due to rumours regarding Kojima's involvement in the completion of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and his eventual departure from Konami, the game's development was questioned. A decision by Konami to cancel the game in April 2015 was criticised by media outlets and franchise supporters.

There hasn't been any news since the showcase in October, but I felt some people acted ungrateful about it.

There was a lot of new games revealed. No gameplay was shown off, but still. They announced like, 4 new games, and a movie. Why wasn't that enough? Even everything that Dusk Golem got heat over, basically came true.

People wanted the series to no longer be dormant, but then they still feel pissed off about Hideo Kojima leaving Konami. A dude who clearly had nothing to do with birthing the series. He only put out one demo, yet Team Silent don't get nearly as much praise anymore.
