What Movie You Watching?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)- I’m sad to report that Marvel has Multiverse Fever. In this movie, I like the core characters and the actors who play them, but hated the setting of this story. Here’s why, Mutliverse Faver tends to come with psychedelic backgrounds. i could handle Dr Strange facing down Dormmamu, and fighting across a Kaleidoscope of city of high rises, in relatively brief sequences. Along the same lines, the quantum realm in Ant-Man was an interesting place to briefly visit, but not spend an entire story in similiar to the Multiverse of Madness which I also disliked. Consequently this franchise loses some of it’s Earth bound quaintness Imo. How do I make my final judgement, can I watch such a movie multiple times? The answer here is no. :(

Above Suspicion (2021)- Watched on Amazon. The story of an FBI agent and his informant. It got terrible audience and critic reviews, it did not feel coherent, and it’s a somber look at small town Kentucky white low income society, not to imply that all Southern small town society is like this. One bright light is Emilia Clarke does a great job with her portrayal, Southern accent and her narration pulled me in at the start. The story telling just felt haphazard and disjointed.

The Magnificint Seven (2016)- Did not see this in the theater, let it slip by as just another remake, a remake of an excellent 1960 film by the same name, which was a remake of an excellent 1954 movie, Seven Samurai. This version was about a town in the USWest being abused by a rich industrialist. I’ll call it good and watchable, beautiful US Western scenery, while being a bit over the top, with some of the amazing shots that are made, and the numbers of hombres required to be killed, explosives help. :) I liked the cast, especially Chris Pratt who can inject humor while being dramaticallyq serious.

I’ll also take this opportunity to recommend Shane (1954) a good story about the cattlemen vs the settlers for a 10 second gun fight, and Unforgiven (1992) a depiction of just how sloppy gun fights more likely could be.

Last night I saw "Skyfall" movie. It is a 2012 James Bond film that follows Bond as he investigates an attack on MI6 and faces a dangerous new enemy, Raoul Silva. Bond must confront Silva, who has a personal vendetta against M, leading to a final showdown at Bond's childhood home in Scotland. The movie explores complex relationships between Bond, M, and their enemies.

Interesting because Silva claims M betrayed and abandoned him, as a MI6 agent, while she says he was basically rogue or dirty, I forget which, and that was the way the chips fell. Who to believe? :)

Right now I am watching Money heist and Toko is my favorite character. If you do not watch this movie I will highly recommend you this movie.

Free Guy (2021)- In a massive multiplayer online (MMO) game, based in Free City with daily mayhem, a non-player character (NPC) gains self awareness as a conflict brews about the direction the game should take between the software developer and the a-hole boss/owner Taika Waititi. I did not care for him in this role, too good of a job being a shallow one dimensional, prick. While Ryan Reynolds seems to be eternally likable. The movie is not something I would own, but to be fair, I should give it a second watch. :)

Checking into Hot Tub Time Machine
Four pals are stuck in a rut in adulthood: Adam has just been dumped, Lou is a hopeless party animal, Craig is a henpecked husband, and Jacob does nothing but play video games in his basement. But they get a chance to brighten their future by changing their past after a night of heavy drinking in a ski-resort hot tub results in their waking up in 1986.
This movie was so funny. But I don't remember much of it, I need to re-watch it. Recently I watched The wedding singer, and role models. They were worth the watch imo
