Prometheus (2012)- I was really excited after first watching Prometheus, not only did I enjoy it as a outstanding prequel, I thought an exciting new path lay ahead “I’m going to find out why the Engineers want to kill us” but then in Alien: Covenant the door of epicness was slammed shut as Elizabeth Shaw was short changed in her ambition and the story became a convoluted narrative that was more frustrating than enjoyable or intriguing. Instead of the story focusing on humans and engineers, it became a story about a murderous, sinister Android which I would not mind that as a side show, but not the main event.
Hi! I'm currently watching “Arrival,” a thought-provoking sci-fi film directed by Denis Villeneuve. It stars Amy Adams as a linguist working to communicate with aliens who've landed on Earth. The movie explores themes of communication and how language influences our perception of time. It's a visually stunning film that combines intellectual depth with emotional impact. Highly recommended if you enjoy films that challenge you to think and feel.

Twenty years later, the trio still uses the nonexistent Ricky as a handy alibi for their immature behavior. Checking into Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe
The dumbest science fiction movie ever made.
In 1998, Beavis and Butt-Head are sentenced to Space Camp by a “creative” judge. Their obsession with a docking simulator (huh huh) leads to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they re-emerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don’t score.

Harold & Kumar.webp

Checking into Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle
Fast food. High times.
Nerdy accountant Harold and his irrepressible friend, Kumar, get stoned watching television and find themselves utterly bewitched by a commercial for White Castle. Convinced there must be one nearby, the two set out on a late-night odyssey that takes them deep into New Jersey. Somehow, the boys manage to run afoul of rednecks, cops and even a car-stealing Neil Patrick Harris before getting anywhere near their beloved sliders.

Dodgeball A True Underdog Story.webp

Checking into Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Grab life by the ball.
When megalomaniacal White Goodman, the owner of a trendy, high-end fitness center, makes a move to take over the struggling local gym run by happy-go-lucky Pete La Fleur, there's only one way for La Fleur to fight back: dodgeball. Aided by a dodgeball guru and Goodman's attorney, La Fleur and his rag-tag team of underdogs launch a knock-down, drag-out battle in which the winner takes all.

Oh, Prometheus is a separate story. On one hand, the visuals and plotting are wow, but I agree with you about the sequel. Elizabeth Shaw deserved a stronger line, and we were given an android who somehow became the central figure. I can't say I was completely disappointed though, but it felt weird.

I recently decided to revisit this and other movies from the universe. If anything, there's a huge selection there, including classics like Alien and new releases. Conveniently, there are detailed descriptions of the movies and even ratings so you know right away what to choose. What kind of mood did you go to see “Alien: Covenant” in? Did you go in at all?
