Honestly lets take "Mario RPG" there is a modding Community for the new game ( as many things have gone wrong ). So far they have restored bowser and Mario, to even actually making the game a challenge as with the SNES game.
Might as well use Unity to recreate SMPRG from scratch. That is how terrible the new game is.
If you remember "Pause" effect that was used in "Smash Brothers" for the Combos, when there is a slight "Pause" during striking or countering. Same effect was used in "Kirby Dreamland" when you get a power-up, or even perform specific moves, along side "Screen/sprite shaking" via sound-effects. The entire stage paused or the sprites on screen paused, just to show a specific animation, or do a zoom in, or even change the camera. To make things look more dynamic. Part of the charm of Kirby games starting with NES to implement this the most, while it was used in the original.
This also missing from Mario RPG, where the moves in the past was amazing but they censor them, despite being smooth, the "Pause" in between attacks made it worth-while.
Metroid: Other M - had a mod to give Samus her Prime Suit ( as it was better ) and remove Adam from the game as much as possible. Because all that lore Nintendo put into Metroid concerning Adam, Samus in the military, is complete garbage. It is kind of a challenge to install that, but that game needs work.
1. Remove Adam
2. Add the correct suits appearance.
3. Leave no trace of Adam.
But the biggest problem is actually being able to load these mods.
