Victorian men charged for Counter-Strike eSports match-fixing

Five Victorian men have been charged for match-fixing after a criminal investigation into Counter-Strike Global Offensive eSports.

The ABC reports that a 20-year-old man from Mill Park has been charged with two counts of engaging in conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome, two counts of using corrupt conduct information for betting purposes, and possessing cannabis.

Two other 20-year-old-men from Mill Park and another 20-year-old man from South Morang have been charged with three counts of using corrupt conduct information for betting purposes. Finally, a 27-year-old man from Sale was charged with five counts of using corrupt conduct information for betting purposes.

All five men will face court in September 2020.

The charges are a result of match-fixing investigations started by Victoria Police in September last year.
