The Last of Us Remastered loading times have been improved on PS4 ahead of the PS5 iteration as part the PlayStation Plus Collection.

Anthony Calabrese wrote:
Patch 1.11 of TLOU made it so loading screens are basically non-existent on PS4. This is for both SSD and HDD. Sections load in ASAP and I can save almost 18 seconds in the David fight.

Sony and Naughty Dog have yet to explain how the patch has increased loading times, although many believe it to be the result of new compression algorithms called Kraken and Oodle Textures. Regardless, it looks as if Naughty Dog might be optimizing the game ahead of the PS5’s launch… and those on PS4 benefit too.

The Last of Us Remastered is available on PS4 and heads to PS5 from 12 November.

"Joel needs a car?!"

Ah, quit your complaining, Bill.

You have an engine there doing nothing anyway, but those Clickers in that neighbourhood zone may object to us just running off with it. :p

Good to see that this has been done. If the improvements are already good on the PS4, the game is going to feel pretty fast on the PS5
