Nintendo won't talk about the next Switch console until it's good and ready to do so, but the latest firmware for the existing Switch and Switch Lite contains a number of references to what's expected to be the Switch Pro.

As VGC reports, the new details were discovered by Twitter users SciresM, who is described as a console hacker and dataminer. When taking a close look at the Switch firmware, SciresM discovered references to new hardware carrying the codename "Aula." It uses the same Mariko (Tegra X1+) system-on-chip found in the Switch Lite, but will apparently be clocked higher so as to offer more performance.

Great, I barely used my current Switch. Do I upgrade? I hope Nintendo makes it worthwhile.

Hope it's a good upgrade. Would be nice if they sorted out the JoyCon drifting issues

I'm somewhat optimistic about the next Switch, I'm hopeful it'll be a solid jump forward. I love my Switch and the games it has, so having a new iteration of that would be fantastic.
