Star Wars Squadrons progression, ranks and rewards have today been detailed by EA Motive.

In a new blog post, EA Motive said:
As we’ve said since back when we revealed Squadrons at EA Play Live 2020, this is a self-contained game, where all progression, unlocks and rewards are earned solely through play.

To unlock additional cosmetics, players must accomplish Challenges, Operations and player Levels to earn the in-game currency, Glory. Challenges come in the form of both Daily and Operation Challenges, with the latter tied to Operations itself.

EA stated:
Operations are 8-week cycles that happen in Squadrons, and each Operation brings with it a set of unique cosmetic rewards that can only be earned by completing its Challenges. Certain Challenges also offer unique rewards, too, so once they’re gone, you won’t be able to get the cosmetic unless the Operation Challenges return one day.

A player’s Fleet Battles rank is directly tied to Operations and will also reset at the end of an 8-week cycle.

Finally, levels will earn players Requisition Points used to unlock ship components. Moreover, players who hit Level 40 will be able to unlock “all components, allowing you to try out every potential starfighter build”.

Star Wars Squadrons heads to PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC on October 2. It supports VR on PS4 and Windows PC alongside cross-play and hands-on throttle-and-stick (HOTAS) control.
