Spider-Man Miles Morales to support cross save between PS4 & PS5

Spider-Man Miles Morales will support cross saves between PS4 and PS5, developer Insomniac Games has confirmed.

Insomniac tweeted the following to an inquisitive fan:

Hi there, you will be able to transfer your save to PS5. We’ll share details closer to launch.

This is good news for fans but it does make Spider-Man Miles Morales all the more confusing. While cross saves will be supported across both editions, Insomniac has confirmed that game saves from the original Spider-Man on PS4 won’t be compatible with Spider-Man Remastered on PS5, a title that’s bundled in Miles Morales‘ Ultimate Edition.

It's also likely that Spider-Man game saves on PS4 will work on PS5 using backwards compatibility, but Sony has yet to confirm this. It’s still unclear how Miles Morales’ cross save will actually work and if a transfer from PS5 to PS4 is possible. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

Spider-Man is available on PS4, while Spider-Man Miles Morales heads to PS4 and PS5 on 12 November.
