The tweet detailing this information has since been removed. But you know how it is. Once it's online, it stays online...

Don't believe this for a second. Why bother starting a potential series of remakes with the second entry first? It makes more sense to start with the first Silent Hill, right? Yes.

Nice, more rumors for a great game...
also yeah, the internet now tends to immortalize stuff, especially if it's popular. ?

well, that makes sense too. after all, resident evil 1 got a remake, 2 times actually.
I wonder why, silent hill would skip the first game though. ?

Well, 2 is the one that is the most beloved, most memorable, or whatever.

It's the game that introduced the poster villain, Pyramid Head. So that explains it.

Technically, they remade the first game in a crappy way, as Shattered Memories.

Nobody acknowledges Silent Hill: Shattered Memories as a legitimate entry in the franchise. The game is a disgrace to the series and it would be in Konami's best interest to ignore that "remake." I wonder what that fraud Dusk Golem has to say about these latest so-called leaks.

You don't have to look far. Just Google his name. Once the other user posted the leaked images, he was quick to chip in to talk about it again, despite claiming months ago he retired from being an insider who openly reveals things. But I think he was probably just feeling temporarily mad because of accusations made towards him.

You're right. Shattered Memories was bogus. You couldn't even fight back in that game. It felt like an interactive movie more than a game, to be honest. So I definitely wouldn't want an Until Dawn style game, where you just select answers that pop up on the screen, in order to get different results, deaths of characters, and whatnot. Those genre of games don't really interest me.

That bonehead should not be too surprised from the negative reaction they received for knowingly publishing false or incorrect information. He bluffed and lost. End of story.

Doing a remake of the series is a lot of work but not that hard of a task. Team Silent have already done most of the heavy lifting in terms of worldbuilding, so a potential new team would have a solid point of reference to work off of. Thus, the goal should be to properly modernize the first three games similar to what Capcom did with its Resident Evil remakes.

well, if that's the case... pyramid head sure is iconic after all, so that explains it... IF IT'S REAL.
because that would pull in the money. ?

The guy who designed Pyramid Head admitted that he regrets that the character ended up as a gimmick. In SH2, he was a manifestation of James Sunderland's fears. But in the movie and Homecoming, he was just there because it looked cool.

Sort of like what happened with Nemesis in RE. He became a pop culture icon. Very recognisable.

Alrighty, so Pyramid Head would need to be in a remake of Silent Hill 2 but that's where it needs to stop. It never made sense for this creature to appear elsewhere in the series.

yeah, well, that's what happens to things that get their reputations blown up... they get dragged along with it into unnecessary places where they should've not been... ?

oh well.
it's the fault of the character designer for making it so cool. ?

Can you guess what survival horror franchise was NOT at Tokyo Game Show today? And nope. It wasn't Resident Evil.

:D

Silent Hill is still a dead IP. Nothing is in development, chaps and chapettes. Accept it and move on.
