Rockstar Games has acquired Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games earlier in the month, renaming to Rockstar Dundee in the process.

A Companies House filing history listing reveals that Rockstar made the acquisition on 1 October 2020 and the name change made on 5 October 2020. The transaction was made with little media attention, though the studio has since taken to Twitter with the news.

Ruffian Games hasn't commented on what their new Twitter name account will be… or if the studio will continue to present as Ruffian despite the name change.

The Scottish-based studio will join other Rockstar studios based in the UK (Rockstar London, Rockstar Leeds, Rockstar Lincoln and Rockstar North), the USA and Canada (Rockstar New England, Rockstar New York, Rockstar San Diego and Rockstar Toronto) and India. The studio hasn't commented on what they are working on at present.
