Resident Evil Netflix TV series plot description revealed

Upcoming Resident Evil Netflix TV series has revealed the plot description on Netflix's Media Center.

The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C.

Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.

It's unknown whether the series will tie in or follow the Resident Evil video games or the series of films by Paul W.S. Anderson.

I am wondering if they make anime and game side by side like the castlevania did recently. I think that could be one possibility. That;s what I have seen so far.
