Resident Evil Infinite Darkness release date was revealed alongside a new trailer.

The animated Netflix series will be available to stream from 8 July.

You can check out the new trailer below, which follows series leads Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Both characters look similar to their Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil Revelations 2 counterparts and nothing like their revamped Resident Evil 2 remake looks. Which do you prefer?

In the meantime, why not check out a list of best video game documentaries on Netflix?

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness is a Netflix exclusive and will be available to stream from 8 July.

I hear this will have references to events that occurred in the CGI film Resident Evil: Degeneration, the last occurrence in the timeline that these two characters appeared together. Now would probably be a good time to pick it up if you intend on watching this.. ?

Characters have to get old, just like people do. That's called realism. But it appears as if Capcom would rather just keep them looking youthful, which is silly.

Why go back to 2006, though? Currently, Village is set in 2021, which is what the real year currently is, and we've already had Resident Evil: Revelations 2 with Claire Redfield, which takes place during 2011. Basically, it's set just before the events of Resident Evil 6.

There's nothing wrong with the quality of the animation. But it seems as if Capcom just wants the Resident Evil 4 money coming in.
