Discussion ResetEra bans me without an explanation

I was banned on Biohaze years ago, probably because of some tool. But I have posted there again for years since. It's not very active anymore.

The thing is, most forums in 2020 have hardly any active users. The busier ones like GameSpot have some really shitty people posting, so I tend to feel like contributing there wouldn't bring forth much in the way of fruitful community vibes or pleasant responses. It's like the same half a dozen folk on all of them, too.

Maybe people just prefer Twitter and Facebook, because everything is kind of already in the one place. I'm not really keen on Facebook, though. The interface is so ugly. Even Bebo was better, if you didn't add all these different pointless apps that made your feed so slow and cluttered-looking. It was at least better than MySpace, where everything looked so squashed together.

Personally, I hate Facebook because of receiving endless notifications of unimportant BS from being tagged. Even when I delete an account, and make a new one, it seems to already know your habits, and whatnot.

Besides, I am only on Facebook to look for acting or extra work type jobs, but COVID-19 really screwed up the economy this year, so there really wasn't much of that at all...

Facebook has become verrrryyy slow over the years. I prefer forums to social media.

I started using forums in 1996, so I've always preferred them to what social media evolved into. It's always felt like a cluttered mess, while forums are organized, usually comprised of a corps or members that bond into a solid group of like-minded friends, and just plain feel better to participate in for whatever reason. Social media never had the community feeling, to me, because it's...well...everyone...and sharing everything. It's just information overload, to the point of uselessness. I'll take "old fashioned" forums any day.

Forums have always and will always be something I enjoy. Hence why I run my site, and have managed many forums over the years. Just love the community aspect of it :)

I got banned the other day just for disagreeing with someone with a high reputation on the forums. That's the kind of moderation they have on ResetEra and I'm not here for it.

I was never banned on GameFAQs, but the members there aren't worth having a conversation with. Games, or otherwise. :geek:

Facebook is worse, as they put you through a checkpoint, and then disable your account if they think it's suspicious. I gave up with it.

Those kind of sites store your info, I'm sure. If you rejoin, it remembers everyone you looked up, so everybody you want to hide from, knows you're suddenly back.

Social Media is trash. Oldschool forums with a modernized look like this are the real kings of communication.

So RE8 turned out to be rather stupid. Like, it's weird.

A type of mould is somehow able to turn people into blooming bugs, vampires, robots, and puppets. But don't y'all dare tell fanboys this on any specialist forums regarding the franchise.

They will whine that you're not a true fan. :D

They will jump on the bandwagon and bash you for it.

I've never been on RecetEra (The sign up requirements alone are a pain in the ass), so I only know them through reputation and It's not somewhere that sounds very appealing. And this ban happy attitude sounds very typical. I work as a mod on another forum and, aside from spam accounts and bots, and I could probably count the amount of people I've banned over the last couple of years on one had. I really should be a last resort.

How many forums are you on? I think I see you almost everywhere man, lol.

What are you talking about? You would THRIVE in there. They LOVE your politics. They LOVE your ideology. They LOVE your bias. You would be moderator in no time there. If your attitude on VGR is anything I can go by... You. would. THRIVE in there.

That's your home.
