Rockstar Games said:
The new standalone version of Red Dead Online will include an option to unlock Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Mode, plus all existing gameplay upgrades and content for Red Dead Online, such as the upcoming 10 Rank expansion for the Bounty Hunter Role – scheduled to launch next week.

The title's upcoming expansion includes new Prestigious level equipment and unlockable skills alongside new Legendary Bounties and a new 100 Rank Outlaw Pass. All existing Bounty Hunter Missions are awarding double XP this week.

Players who connect their Rockstar Games Social Club account to Twitch’s Prime Gaming will receive:
  • 5 Free Legendary Animal Pheromones
  • 6,000 Naturalist XP
  • A Reward for a free Wilderness Camp
  • A free Katata Coat crafted from the Legendary Katata Elk hide

Red Dead Online is part of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Red Dead Online will be available on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC via the Rockstar Game Launcher and Epic Games Store. The title will be backwards compatible on PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S.

It is a smart business move for Rockstar, just like what they're going to be doing with GTA Online. Keep the cash cow moving along separate from GTA V, and push GTA VI development forward in the background. They can expand on San Andreas without impacting the campaign world of GTA V, so it makes a lot of sense. Cut loose the dead weight and keep the viable portion going and growing.
