PS5 3D audio will support several games at launch, PlayStation has confirmed.

Isabelle Tomatis, PlayStation Senior Director, said:
Headphone audio is the current gold standard for 3D Audio on PS5, as Mark Cerny mentioned in his ‘Road to PS5’ talk in March.

The post confirmed that “the headphones that many of you already own” will support the feature, though Sony is “working on virtual surround sound through speakers that are built into TVs.”

Be aware of the latter option, as “TV speaker virtual surround sound won’t be available on launch day for PS5.”

3D audio supported titles are as follows:
  • Spider-Man Miles Morales
  • Spider-Man Remastered
  • Destruction AllStars
  • Demon’s Souls
  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Sackboy A Big Adventure
  • Returnal
  • Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Resident Evil Village

PS5 heads to retail stores on 12 November.

I still don't get the whole 3D thing, but as long as the music is crystal clear, I don't care what Sony does.

Can't wait to see what it is like on Gran Turismo 7. Just hoping that the release date is not too far away from the console launch

3d surround sounds going to be interesting. Good start to the list of games already at what cost
