Pokémon Go developer, Niantic, has decided that they are going to kill off support for Pokémon Go on the Apple Watch. From July 1st, players will no longer be able to link their game to their watch. The developer has gone on to claim that it's not necessary to play the game from your smartwatch anymore.

A Niantic post on its official website reveals that everything you can do with the Apple Watch application is also possible on the iPhone, thanks to the Adventure Sync feature: "Because Adventure Sync allows trainers the option of tracking their steps, earning buddy candy and hatching eggs in one mobile device rather than two separate devices, we want to focus on building Adventure Sync so that trainers will no longer have to split their gameplay between two devices."

Adventure Sync can track your travels and how far you went without even needing to launch the app or take the phone out of your pocket. In addition, it can also continue to earn buddy candy automatically and push notifications be enabled to let you know when it's time for your little egg's to hatch.
