After Microsoft's recent acquisition of Bethesda via ZeniMax Media, Microsoft head Satya Nadella has said the company is considering buying more video game studios.

Nadella said, before advising that the company will consider buying more video game studios:
You can’t wake up one day and say, ‘Let me build a game studio. The idea of having content is so we can reach larger communities.

The news comes after Bethesda’s acquisition was made only yesterday, with Xbox head Phil Spencer applauding the company as “early supporters of Xbox Game Pass, bringing their games to new audiences across devices and have been actively investing in new gaming technology like cloud streaming of games."

We still don't know if Microsoft will honour one-year PS5 console exclusivity on upcoming Bethesda titles like Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop. Furthermore, The Elder Scrolls Online took to Twitter to ensure its PS4 userbase that servers won’t disappear.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more of Microsoft and Bethesda’s plans.

It makes sense for them given their current approach to publishing, so good on them if they do. It likely helps ensure some games come to the market that may have been on their last legs prior to the studio being acquired (if they do indeed acquire more studios), and it means greater exposure for some games from smaller studios they acquire. So...yeah, go for it!
