Microsoft is interested in acquiring Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment (WBIE), along with studios Rocksteady (Batman Arkham Asylum) and Monolith (Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor).
The Information suggests that the acquisition of Warner Bros’ studios. WBIE could help Microsoft expand its first-party games. WBIE is owned by parent company AT&T, which is looking to reduce some of its debts with a quick sale.
It is also reported that other publishers like Activision Blizzard, EA and Take-Two are also interested in acquiring WBIE.
Rumours suggest that a number of titles are in the works at Warner Bros’ various studios, such as Batman Court of Owls game from WB Montreal, Suicide Squad title from Rocksteady and Harry Potter RPG from Avalanche.
Microsoft will reveal a series of first-party games for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows PC later this month.
