Hello Everyone,

I wanted to start a conversation about something I've been thinking about recently: the culture of online gaming communities. All of us avid gamers spend a lot of time interacting with other people online in different platforms, such as social media, multiplayer games, and forums like this one. But I've found that toxicity is a recurring problem that appears to impact all of these sites to some degree.

According to my observations, this poisoning can take many different forms, including hate speech, harassment, and simply plain negativity that ruins other people's experiences. It's depressing since video games ought to unite people rather than drive them apart. Every community, particularly ours on JoyFreak, has a part to play in fostering an atmosphere that is more welcoming and uplifting, in my opinion.

So, I'm interested in knowing what you think:
  • Have you been a part of or seen instances of toxic gaming communities? If so, what effect did it have on your encounter?
  • What actions do you think the community as a whole can do to lessen pollution and foster a healthier environment?
  • Which particular gaming communities, in your opinion, are doing an excellent job at controlling toxicity? From them, what can we learn?
I'm interested in hearing your viewpoints. We're hoping to generate some useful suggestions that can be implemented not only in this gcp area but also in the larger gaming community. After all, when everyone is treated with respect and welcome, game is at its finest.

I appreciate you reading and participating in the discussion!

What is your proposal Dr Kelvin?

If this topic is about selecting a game system. You could put together your own PC for less then $500 and play the latest and greatest games, rehashing parts. Otherwise any recent Android phone are becoming portable power-houses, you might as well invest time in rooting,

Live free, somebody plays you, then play-them-back,
Ignorance is bliss. Could go into the topic but I
choose to have a life. I am not going to get
caught up in the idea of problem creation. Freedom
of expression, not living in doubt.

Even with the simplist things, you can't help yourself and have to speak bullshit. $500 or the equiliant for a PC with the performance capabilities of a PS5 or Xbox Series X. With all the storage, OS, disk drive and periferals not to mention future proofing? No. Just... just no. For a 1080p system, it certainly is possible, but not 4K, not a chance.

I am with you on the issue with the thread title at least. It's like the guy posted the title of one topic, but the content of another. The difference between us hear is I knew this was bot. If not, then it's somebody with a more, let's say, cooperate interest in forum rather than a personal one. That's why I didn't waste my time replying before. I have no interest in discussing video games with the used car dealer feining interest in my Final Fantasy keychain.
