With the latest Lego game, it's nearly time to return to a galaxy far, far away.

We're just as enthusiastic as you are, whether you're new to Lego Star Wars or nostalgic for the previous games.

But what if you have a Next-Gen system like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox One X? What features are included in the package? Fortunately, we have all of the most up-to-date information for you!

Here's all you need to know about the Next-Gen Editions of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga!

Is There a free Next-Gen Upgrade for Lego Star Wars?

In a word, yeah. A Next-Gen version of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is included in every edition!

If you buy LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on disc or digitally and don't have a Next-Gen console, you'll get the Next-Gen copies for free.

However, in order to receive a free update, you must possess the digital version of the game if you buy a PlayStation 5 Digital or an Xbox Series S. Otherwise, you'll have to buy the game all over again.

How to Upgrade to Next-Gen Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

It's not difficult to update your copy of The Skywalker Saga to Next-Gen, but here's how to do it for each system!

How to Upgrade From a PS4 to a PS5 Version of Lego Star Wars

You'll need the normal PlayStation 5, not the digital version, if you have a disc copy of The Skywalker Saga.

Simply plug the PlayStation 4 copy into the PS5 and download Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on the PS5.

You'll be downloading the PlayStation 5 version, which means you'll have to wait for the entire download to complete. You must also remember to put the disc in each time you want to play the game.

If you already own a digital copy of Lego Star Wars, all you have to do now is download the PS5 version from your game library.

How to Upgrade From Xbox One to Xbox Series X in Lego Star Wars

Inserting the disc into the Xbox Series X edition of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is all it takes to get started. A pop-up will appear asking whether you wish to upgrade to the Series X edition of the game if you use Smart Delivery.

You'll need to keep your disc in when playing the game, just like the PlayStation version!

Owners of the digital edition will only need to download the Series X optimised version and install it on their console; nothing more is required.

Next-Gen Features in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

If you're using an Xbox One X or a PlayStation 5, you can expect 4K and 60 frames per second. At this time, there are no details about the Series S.

Unfortunately, because to each console's SSD, the Next-Gen enhancements are limited to greater resolution, higher framerates, and quicker loading times.

At launch, Next-Gen capabilities like ray-tracing, DualSense features like adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio will not be available.

It's unknown whether or not these features will be patched in after the launch, but we really hope they will.

However, don't be put off by this! Lego Star Wars is said to have stunning visuals, a large cast of characters, and more. There are plenty of reasons to be enthusiastic!

That wraps up all of the details we know about the Next-Generation Lego Star Wars sets. Find out which edition to buy if you haven't already pre-ordered the game!
