Kojima Productions at GDC, Overwatch League match cancelled because of coronavirus

The coronavirus has struck again, causing Kojima Productions to pull out of GDC and cancellations of Overwatch League matches in South Korea.

Kojima Productions has confirmed it will not be attending GDC 2020.

Kojima Productions has made the difficult decision to cancel our participation at the 2020 Game Developers Conference due to increasing concerns related to novel coronavirus. Although much-anticipated, unfortunately this cancellation also includes Hideo Kojima’s session on the 19th and Eric Johnson’s session on the 16th.

Overwatch League has cancelled matches in Seoul, South Korea.

In order to protect the health & safety of our players, fans, & staff, we are canceling plans to host [Overwatch League 2020] matches in South Korea in Weeks 5, 6, and 7, including the [Seoul Dynasty] home event. We’ll share more info about when and where matches will take place at a later.

The coronavirus has already affected Nintendo Switch stocks, the Switch release of The Outer Worlds, the Taipei Game Show, Square Enix scaled down PAX East plans and Sony cancelled PAX East plans.
I am not really sure considering the health issue, why the people are desperate to arrange all the events in this time. I mean they can always postpone and arrange things later.
