How to play NBA 2K games on Mac

Hello everyone.. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I don't know much about PC gaming. I've played PS systems growing up. My friend has a PC version of NBA Y2K (I think 2019) on his PC and I'm wondering if there's a way I can get a version of that on my iMac so that we can play against each other online. I've heard there are ways using programs like "Parallels" to run windows on Mac but I'm not very computer savvy and was hoping I could get some advice on if this is possible. I may be getting the Mac mini M1 soon if that helps me. Other questions would be that if I can do so, where/how is the best way to purchase the game and do I need to get the exact version that my friend has or can I get a new version, 2k2022 for example? Thanks a bunch. I appreciate any info...

I've never really tried it on Mac, have you looked online like on Google for a guide perhaps?
