How much do game devs get paid in the UK?

I'm currently working as a game developer based in the US. For various reasons, I'm seriously exploring the possibility of relocating to the UK in the not-too-distant future, and the UK's vibrant game development scene is definitely a big part of the appeal.

As I'm doing my research, one of the biggest practical hurdles is understanding the compensation landscape over there. I have a good sense of salaries stateside for my experience level, but I know things can be quite different internationally.

So, I'm hoping some folks here with UK industry experience could shed some light on typical salary ranges. What does compensation generally look like for game developers within the UK?

Obviously, I know it varies hugely based on:
  • Experience Level: (Junior, Mid, Senior, Lead, etc.)
  • Discipline: (Programming, Art, Design, QA, Production...)
  • Location: (I hear London is different from, say, Guildford, Leamington Spa, Manchester, Dundee, etc.?)
  • Studio Type: (AAA vs. Indie vs. Mobile, etc.)
I'm not necessarily looking for exact, personal numbers (unless you're comfortable sharing ranges!), but more a general ballpark understanding to help me gauge feasibility. For someone with 5 years of experience in game development, what might be a realistic salary expectation in the UK market?

Also, are there any go-to resources (websites, recruiters, salary surveys) that are particularly reliable for UK game industry salary data?

Any insights, anecdotes, or pointers would be massively appreciated as I try to figure out if this move makes sense financially. Trying to gather as much info as possible before making any big decisions!

Thanks so much in advance!
