I feel like the days of games being mainly hardcore are behind us. I am a cozy gamer through and through. Red Dead Redemption 2? Cozy game. Baldur's Gate 3? Cozy game. Resident Evil 4? Cozy. It's all a matter of perspective and how you play the game and in that mindset, I think that cozy games are for everyone. It just depends on what you like. Are you looking for games that aren't what are immediately thought of as cozy but have all the potential in the world. Well they, and by they I mean me, have a list for that. It's called Top Ten RPGs like Lord of the Rings. Are you looking to get into cozy games, well here are the coziest. Again an article, this is a shameless plug, called [Top Ten] Games Like Stardew Valley (Games Better Than Stardew Valley In Their Own Way)
My personal choice for the two coziest games are Stardew valley and Baldur's Gate 3. Now just hear me out.
Stardew Valley is an obvious cozy game choice. You farm, interact and make relationships with the citizens of Pelican Town and there's a large focus on doing whatever you want. But there is combat, while there is no real danger to your character or game, you will lose so much money. But I am an old gamer, who's played too much Stardew to the point that I've written articles about it, so here you are. This is also to help you money by farming as is it is titled [Top 5] Stardew Valley Best Crops for Every Season.
Now Baldur's Gate 3 has its own coziness. I don't care if you are trying to save all of Faerun. Romance first, heroics later. The reason I believe this game is so cozy is not only the romantic relationships but the friendships as well such as Barcus and Jaheira. The way that you can help NPCs is cozy, such as Moll and her gang. Scratch is the hallmark of a cozy game. But if you are looking to make your playthrough cozier here are two articles that will help you.
First nothing is cozier than playing a bard, I mean this is not a class that is useful in combat, making you a support character. Nothing says cozy like helping your friends with silly little songs. So if you can't decide which instrument to rock my article [Top 5] Baldur's Gate 3 Best Instruments (Ranked).
Second if you are an indecisive completionist like myself, I can never decide what party combo is my fave. I'm not really too caught up on the idea of stats, mostly because I die alot, but the banter? Ugh. There are too many options. And so again I wrote them out in my article [Top 10] Baldur's Gate 3 Best Party.
