Have you noticed inconsistency in the eververse store on Destiny 2?

Many players have noticed a lot of inconsistency in the eververse store in Destiny 2 since the launch of the holiday event, Solstice of Heroes. Previous years have seen players gain loot boxes just by playing the game to receive the new in game cosmetics but that seems to have changed a lot with this update this year, not to mention with the price of some things it is looking very inconsistent and many are not happy with it. Have you noticed the inconsistency in the Destiny 2 Eververse store? What are your thoughts on the changes?
