Gary Whitta, 'Rogue One' writer, launches late night talk show in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the chilled-out game our world so clearly needs right now, giving folks trapped inside something to pass the time. Now that many players have made their way through the main campaign, they’re putting the game’s assets to alternate uses. That includes screenwriter Gary Whitta, who recently kicked off a late-night talk show in the basement of his Nook-built home.

Highlights from his Twitch channel’s pilot episode showed up on YouTube on Sunday, with episode 1 debuting on Monday. The first guest was actor Naomi Kyle. In the future he promises more celebrity guests, musical acts, and stand-up comedians in short order.

The set itself is darling, and includes several television cameras. There’s a drum set off to the side for his musician sidekick and video editor Adam Nickerson, as well as a lavish cityscape wallpaper in the background. According to his Twitch channel, viewers can expect episodes every Wednesday night at 7 pm PST. According to Whitta’s Twitter feed, every episode will also be edited and posted on YouTube after the Twitch premiere.
