After 18 years of glory journey in China, World of Warcraft was finally offline on January 23rd, 2023, that day was also Chinese Lunar new year, a lot players there chose to suicide in game and bought electronic coffins for their characters on their new year. NetEase was used to be Blizzard’s exclusive partner in china.

In the negation of WoW renewal in China, Blizzard asked NetEase to upload all Chinese players’ information which is a reasonable request, but they refused it. After the talk broke down, NetEase is reacting weird and has done a lot of 'funny' things. :)

They have destroyed Gorehowl ("The axe of Grom Hellscream has sown terror across hundreds of battlefields.") in the plaza of their company in Shanghai, they even gave it a live show

They start to sell a drink “Blizzard Green Tea”, ‘Green Tea’ is a bad phrase in China, I don’t know it’s accurate definition, it probably means angelic B**ch or Conniving B**ch

At the mean while, Blizzard has initiated a massive ban and suspension against wow accounts which involve in wow gold farming and purchasing activities. From posts on Reddit and discussion on discord, a lot plays have been suspended for 2 weeks for buying gold getting caught by blizzard.

AS a 19 years classic MMORPG, World of Warcraft controls its economic very well, and is very hard on farming and third party gold trade, it's better to do it safely, below links might be useful.
