Fallout 76 now free on Steam to those who own the game on PC via the Bethesda Launcher, Bethesda has announced.

Ever since we shared details about Fallout 76’s Steam launch earlier this year, we have received feedback from PC players in the community who would like to be able to explore Appalachia on both Steam and Bethesda.net. We want you to be able to play on your PC platform of choice.

Fallout 76‘s NPC-spawning Wastelanders update will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC from April 7 but it won't be until April 14 when the Steam version is ready. Players must link their Bethesda.net and Steam accounts by April 12 to get the Steam version for free. Head here to do so.

Items purchased through the Atomic Shop can be shared between the Bethesda Launcher and Steam. However, Atoms or Fallout 1st memberships won’t be shared by both accounts.

Furthermore, anyone who plays Fallout 76 on Steam between April 14-28 will be able to get Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics on steam for free, Bethesda has also confirmed.

Fallout 76 is available on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC; its Wastelanders expansion launches this month.
