Dying Light 2 Stay Human is the continuation of the zombie game Dying Light. Which promises to bring veteran fans many exciting experiences? Dying Light 2 or rather Dying Light 2 Stay Human, is a sequel to the survival horror game set in the zombie pandemic of the same name first announced at E3 in 2018.

As planned, this game will be released in early 2020 but in January of the same year. Because it took more time to have an in-depth look at the game, developer Techland decided to delay Dying Light 2 project indefinitely.

During that time, many inside Techland sources revealed that the development of the second game is currently facing many difficulties, both in terms of technology and personnel.

For example, in June 2020, right after informing about the allegations that screenwriter Chris Avellone had sexual harassment acts, the game company directly terminated his contract.

In addition, there are also many changes somewhat affecting the progress. One of them is the separation between Pawel Selinger, the artistic director of the Dying Light 2 project, and Techland studio.

More than a year passed and it was not until the night of May 27, 2021, those fans finally received a lot of new information about the official release game date and the main context.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human release date

Besides internal personnel, the Covid pandemic is also one of the factors to give Techland developers a headache.

And after a long period of silence, finally, the official Dying Light 2 is released during the Dying 2 Know Livestream last night (May 27). That is on December 7, 2021.

Beside, the game company also revealed that the full name of this game will be Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Thereby, fans also learn about the senior as well as the main goal of the game.

Players will have to fight fiercely, not against the spread of the Harran virus. This virus can turn people into bloodthirsty zombies. They have to protect the City – the last of the human type.

Background of Dying Light 2 Stay Human

The setting of the first Dying Light is in Harran, a real city in Turkey, close to the border with Syria. In the game, this is the source of a dangerous virus of the same name (Harran). Players will take on the role of Kyle Crane, a former US Army employee. He was sent into the epidemic center to investigate the pandemic nightmare.

Returning to Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the game’s setting will be in Europe, 15 years after all the events of the first game. In season two, they will have the opportunity to witness the emergence of The City. An extremely expansive city that is four times the size of Harran. And this is also the last of humankind.

At the Livestream, the developer Techland also promised that The City will give gamers the feeling and experience that they are in the “Middle Ages”.

In a word, although this city is man’s last hope, in a sense, it is also a demon of destruction. We have to sacrifice a lot of important things if we want to survive.

New features will appear in the game

Although The City is the last city of mankind. However, everyone joins no hands to fight the pandemic. Many factions formed and often killed each other to fight for the right to control the entire city. The Survivors, Peacekeepers, and Renegades are the three most influential factions in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Survivors are true survivors and their goal is to find ways to help people adjust to the new world. The Peacekeeper is a peacekeeping force, makeup of police officers and soldiers from many different countries.

They will do everything to protect the law, even if they have to face the gods. Finally, Renegade is an organization of criminals, extremely dangerous prisoners. They only want one thing, and that is to conquer the City.

As Techland has shared, players will directly work with each other on a regular basis during the game. Unlike Dying Light 1. Dying Light 2 Stay Human will likely end the game having to make many extremely difficult decisions in the work of supporting the people in the City.

Thereby, these choices will contribute to making the entire map, and the game’s plot changes significantly.

It's not on my radar, but I may consider buying it. I miss the days where I would play co-op horror games with my sister.

Not that there was ever that many released. ?
