Hugo Martin, Creative Director confirms Doom Eternal will not be including microtransactions.

Martin asserted that Doom Eternal has “no store” via a Facebook comment in a response to a fan:
“Nothing [you] can unlock in Eternal with XP has anything to do with player abilities or content that would impact your game in [any way]. The only thing you can unlock with XP is [cosmetics]. Those cosmetics have no impact on how [you] play, they just look cool.
Eternal is a $60 game, not a free-to-play game or a mobile game – we are giving [you] a complete experience with no store just like you’d expect. Unlocking skins with XP is a part of the experience if you care about that stuff, or [you] can completely ignore it.”
Doom Eternal will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Stadia and Windows PC from March, 20th 2020. Followed by a Nintendo Switch release later in time.

I'm so glad that it won't have microtransactions. Good on the Doom Eternal dev team for not charging any extra on top of the $60 payment.

I am guessing that the gaming community is going to praise them. And any other game that pushes the micro transaction will get big backlash.
