It's strange that now we're forced to look forward to youtube and social media being flooded with hate speech about games masquerading as critiques or reviews. Even Dreamcast guy made a video about this noticing all this content criticizing one or two features in a 60+ hour game and declaring other 98% unplayable, offensive or whatever even though other games have had the same "offensive" features without creating this kind of stir.

Now the game review selection for any potential game released is a minefield where instead of finding out the various aspects of a games are you're forced inside the heads of these individuals filled with nothing but bile and venom which just makes you think they are just generally unhappy people. Mortismalgaming seems like one of the few level headed reviewers left I've found.

It kind of seems like Geoff saw the criticism of Dragonage:The Veilguard coming and to sidestep more criticism than usual in that game awards muddied the categories to exclude certain games that typically would be nominated.

The problem is politics today is very divisive. This is not exclusive to video games. It's in your films, it's in your shows.

This is going back to 2010, where SJW's would infect every news article online, and this is still not exclusive to video games. This has now become political correctness.

Most conglomerates now own most major gaming websites. This was okay in 2010, when Ziff Davis bought out big gaming sites. But then, other conglomerates come in and buy others - like Gamer Network. They're now left-leaning echo-chambers that speak the same kind of comment like a beehive where bees are attracted to honeysuckles. Kotaku, Game Informer, and so on.

Geoff Keighley is trying to keep The Game Awards clean of politics, but there are stupid media personalities on his panels, so that's why you're seeing this stuff. It's not just the games that are being awarded, it's the panel.

For example, this year, we're seeing more and more remasters, DLC's, and everyone got mad at Geoff for the inclusion of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. But none of them realize that this is a slow year with regards to gaming - so that's why we're seeing more remasters, DLC's and whatnot.

...Geoff Keighley is trying to keep The Game Awards clean of politics...

This is just not possible anymore. I mean neither Stellar Blade nor Dragon Age: The Veilguard were nominated for GOTY and were it not for politics both of the games would have been. The only way forward is through it.

I think Stellar Blade was omitted because of the panel that he has. Bunch of ideologues. Just remember, the game had controversy because of the portrayal of the ladies. Geoff obliged their request, but I feel like he wanted the game to be in the GOTY contention. I don't give two limey fucking shits about who is the protagonist in the game. If the game is good, IT'S GOOD.

Stellar Blade is gonna be a underappreciated game. It sold well, but I don't think it's gonna hit that critical mass thanks to these ideologues.

Dragon Age? Game looks trash. Like who gives a shit.

So, basically you folded and became an ideologue on the other side. Stellarblade should have been nominated for GOTY and Elden Ring being 2 years old shouldn't have been nominated again and that's media bomb in and of itself.

It's one thing to criticize a game you already played, based on shortcomings rooted deeply in the game, but to just sheepishly parrot talking points from youtube hatemongers stating the game looks trash, when graphically it looks and plays batter than Baldur's Gate 3 is just a bad look man. Just very disappointing.

If what you wanted to do is piss me off, you did it. I am not a fucking leftist. I am not an ideologue. So, GTFO here with that shit. I do not want to associate myself with these firebombing communists.
Stellarblade should have been nominated for GOTY
Yes, it should have. THEY (the panelists) DON'T want the game to be nominated. Geoff wants it to be GOTY. Geoff wants to champion new, upcoming games. I feel that. Stellar Blade is that game. Stellar Blade is a good game, and should be up there.

It's a good game, however I agree with what you said here..

I didn't criticize the game (Stellar Blade). I have it. It's in my collection for a reason.

But the problem is, the panelists DON'T want the game to be GOTY, and it's because of the controversy surrrounding the game.

Dragon Age, from what I've seen so far looks mid, like there's nothing special about it. Again: Who gives a shit!

Black Myth Wukong is going to win most of the GOTY awards and Astrobot a couple and Metaphor will win the rest will likely win the others. All I'm saying is that Dragon Age: The Veilguard looks at least as good Baldur's Gate 3 and it's isometric view turn-based combat, which already won GOTY. I would like better side quests, but turn based combat is pretty ho-hum. The thing is neither Dragon Age, nor StellarBlade would win GOTY, but they should have been nominees because they are the best of those genres offered this year.

Regardless of whether you don't like being called an idealogue, that's what you are dude, just a right-leaning idealogue on this. If you don't want to get labled be better.

I haven't played Dragon Age: The Veilguard yet, but based on the commentary and review it does not look likely I will anytime soon. The dialogue (Again, based on what I've seen) is immature, cringe and doesn't seem to match with the dialogue options offered very well. The combat looks less dynamic and challenging that what we saw from Inquisition. But honestly, the real killer for me is the visuals. Why did they decide to take the gritty, dark visuals from this mature RPG and turn it into a Pixar movie? Honestly, the game looks like shit.

As for the "political correctness" thing, this is Bioware, they've always made games full of LGBTQAI+ themes and characters and any idiot complaining about inclusivity in Dragon Age: The Veilguard has to have either an age or an IQ count that fails to reach double digits. Actually, people who complain about that in any game are already deeply stupid, but doing so here is just on a whole new level.

However, that does not mean Bioware have handled those elements well. Like I said, the dialogue is cringe and immature and that makes the LGBTQAI+ themes look very unatural and tryhard. It actually hurts the cause instead of help.

I don't even know what you on about.

Look, monkey.... look here. If you gonna call me a right wing idealogue, then, go ahead and look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, why Dragon Age: The Veilguard got panned...?

You said this....

That's your stupid ass complaining about the game. Furthermore, @Shagger over here... he hates me, and will stand there and pretend there is no "political correctness" and use it in air quotes like its funny. Ya wanna know why? He's one of these Leftists.

*pats back* yeah, that's your friend over there. Here's what he said...

That's LITERALLY what I basically fucking said, but YOU wanted THIS discussion...

Here is where I agree again.

So, do me a favor shut the ever living the fuck up.

Actually, piece of shit... I'll ignore your stupid ass. And I recommend your punk ass to follow Shagger to VGR and enjoy his Leftist moderation.

I totally get where you're coming from. It feels like gaming discussions, especially reviews, have shifted from thoughtful critiques to over-the-top negativity for clicks.

I wasn't even talking to you, about you nor addressing you in any way... you narcissistic phycopath. Even agreeing with me you're a complete and total dick. Seriously, what is the matter with you?

This is the problem. The reviews focus on are pretty surface level problems and the descriptions often feel like they're coming from immature people in some cases it makes sense, but Dragon Age is a pretty long game it's highly unlikely that most of the criticisms would hold up for all the characters and the story for 20+ hour and that's even if you haven't played the game. The game is not terrible from beginning to end with every character.

Obviously, you know better than me. You've played the game and I haven't. However, reviews and commentery do count for something. When a lot of trusted sources say the same things, beit positive or negative, it can't be for nothing.

And you're right, the game can't be all bad from beggining to end, games if this length are never that consistent. However, it's more than just that for me. Like I said, I hate the way the game looks and the gameplay doesn't look as interesting nor as fun as Inquisition.

"Seriously, what the matter with you?" Yes you were addressing me, the fact that sat there and pretended like you didn't address me is LUDICROUS.

Here's me mocking you; "Seriously, what's the matter with you?" Go back to VGR, and take Osiris with you.

I just agreed with you, not once but twice, and yet you're sour. Cry about it with your dumbass admin you call DC. Fuck boy.

*throws napkins at Shagger* GO CRY OVER THERE. AT VGR.

*continues to throw toilet paper at Shagger* Go. Cry.

@Shaggar just confirmed what I already was thinking.

DragonAge The Veilguard was panned by a handful of unwell immature voluntarily infantilized individuals such as yourself (@Carlos) that just want to throw temper tantrums when everything in gaming isn't exactly as it was when they were 8 years old.

That's fair and frankly had I not wanted to get it Day 1 I would probably would wait since the biased reviews will affect sales which will mean the price of the game will be dropping precipitously and relatively soon.

Awww. It warms my heart when you say you like this guy. Like I said, go follow Shagger to VGR and do diddy things over there.

The fact that you lie about me, is why I'm acting the way that I am. So, go to VGR and enjoy the community there. Full of leftists, and Shagger here.. is a mod. He rules the place with an iron fist. Much like you; "my way or the highway."

If you elect not to believe me that is your choice, but I didn't even see you comments on this thread until after @Osiris397 's reply to me. Why? Because you were, and still are, on my ignore list. It's only when I senced something odd that I got curious and then it all fell into place. It was you being the same ill-tempered, rude, narssacistic man-child that got banned from VGR despite being over red chance after chance to behave like an adult.

But you know what, since you keep bringing it up, here is the story for those who are curious. The short version is he was a VGR member who quickly got banned for behaving exactly the way he is behaving here in this thread. @Carlos was briefly a member of VGR several years ago. He posted on a thread discussing Microsoft's buyout of Activision with some, baseless bizzare and mostly irrelevant conspirisy theories about China. When myself and pretty much all of the forum questioned both why he was discussing these conspisy theories on a thread that had not real connection to them and the base logic (They REALLY did not make sense), he threw a hissy fit. He hadn't been there very long and was obviously upset that nobody was buying his strange ideas. Thus, came the abuse. Abuse at members who were disagreeing with him and abuse at myself and the mod team for removing posts (Not just his posts, there were lots of people who refused to get back on topic despite several requests from the mods to do so). We even temp-locked the thread untill everything calmed down. We tried to get him back on track, but he would not settle down. Eventually, we suspended him for a week. When the week was up, I personally sent his a message to invite him back, and all I got for was more abuse. I don't think he actually posted on the forum again, just sent constant abuse at myself and the mod team. We had no choice but to ban him after that. Thus ends the insane, but short, story of @Carlos at VGR.

There, @Carlos. Now everybody knows the story. And what I see here is vindication as you have clearly not grown up at all. We made the right call and offered you way more patience and second chances than you ever deserved. And with that, I am done discussing this on this thread or any other thread. And @Carlos, I'm done discussing this with you full stop. Now, leave me alone please.

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to include a link to the thread in question. This link will take you to page 2 whare @Carlos's insanity begins.

SO YOU ACKNOWLEDGE that you know me.
So YOU now, after all this fucking long song and dance, you want to be "honest" about what YOU did. Did you really think posting THAT wall of post was gonna help you? Half a lie, and half a truth.

Look, everyone knows - and everyone understands what the hoopla is around the social challenges are with all these companies going what we know now... as "Woke."

Did you fucking think that thread hurt me at all? Noooo! You stupid!

Look at the industry today. Look around you, stupid fucking retard. Look around you even admit in YOUR OWN GODDAMN words, Bioware is woke.

DID YOU REALLY THINK THAT THREAD WAS GONNA HURT ME? Hahaha. HAHAHA.

You know what bro, just go back to your stupid board. You love your own goddamn ideology that y'all never gonna come out of thinking - maybe Carlos was right. Our games are trash because of DEI, and wokeness. You want to subscribe to that... go back to your echochamber.

You banned me because its YOUR way or the highway. I truly tried to talk to the admin, and you guys. You don't care. You only care about your stupid leftist brain rot.

That is it.

Grab your balls and admit it, bitch.
