Cyberpunk 2077 corrupts saves that are larger than 8MB, developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed.

Reddit users began to notice game saves on PC that are larger than 6MB will take a while to load, while 8MB game saves won’t load at all. In a support page on GOG.com, this information was confirmed.

A ticket reads:
Unfortunately the save is damaged and can’t be recovered. Please use an older save file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials.

If you have used the item duplication glitch, please load a save file not affected by it. The save file size limit might be increased in one of the future patches, but the corrupted files will remain that way.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on Xbox One and Windows PC; the title was recently removed from the PlayStation Store.

Has this rather huge and glaring bug been fixed yet? Hard to believe this escaped play testing.

They have fixed the issue I believe. But of course, any previously corrupted save files will still have the issue.
