Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red is offering refunds to those who “are not pleased with the game”.
Marcin Iwinski, Adam Kicinski, Adam Badowski, Michal Nowakowski, Piotr Nielubowicz and Piotr Karwowski said:
First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for now showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We would always like everyone who buys our games to be satisfied with their purchase. We would appreciate it if you would give us a chance.
The studio has promised to “fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience,” committing to “two large patches starting with Patch #1 in January… followed by Patch #2 in February.”
CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that “if you are not pleased with the game on your console and don’t want to wait for updates, you can opt to refund your copy.” Here’s how to do so:
- For physical copies, first try to obtain a refund from your place of purchase. If unsuccessful, email [email protected] for assistance.
- For digital copies, use the Microsoft Store refund system or the PlayStation Store refund system
Users have the option to request a refund until 21 December.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC, backwards compatible (and far more stable) on PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S.
