Build A Great Gaming Setup With A Limited Budget

You’ve always wanted to have your gaming setup, but you feel you don’t have enough money to do so. You probably already have student loans and other financial burdens to take care of, and you don’t have enough to spare on those top-level gaming setups you see online. But the great news is you can build a good gaming setup even on a limited budget, and the following tips will show you just how.

1. Know the basic requirements you need

Before you do anything, you need to know the basic specifications required to create a great setup. A good place to start is with your computer. As a general rule of thumb, the lesser the specs, the lesser the device or machine will cost. Although having a dedicated ram space of 16 GB is great, you can work with a minimum of 8 GB and still enjoy a wonderful gaming experience. Pair your PC with a good monitor of 1080p resolution, and you’re pretty much good to go.

2. Getting your PC

Your gaming PC will be the soul of your setup, and you don’t need to break the bank to get one good enough for your gaming needs. In most cases, your best option will be to purchase a pre-built computer, as you’ll more likely find retailers willing to give you some amazing deals.

3. Your monitor

As mentioned earlier, you should look for a monitor that offers at least 1080p when it comes to resolution quality. Since you’re working with a tight budget, you might want to stay away from the impressive-looking 144Hz, 1440p, curved, and ultrawide monitors (unless you’re lucky enough to get a great deal for a used one). Getting a good monitor that offers 60hz in great working condition should be just fine.

General aesthetics or appearance should be the least of your concerns at the moment, especially when it offers nothing to the performance of the monitor.

4. VPS hosting for game servers

You’ll need a good server to help you join the online gaming community. You want to find an option with features that suit you best. There are various options to choose from, and you might have to do thorough research to identify the ones with features that will help you better. Regarding cost, you can also find a cheap VPS in general or one dedicated to gaming.

5. Your keyboard

Many gamers prefer getting a mechanical keyboard for pretty obvious reasons. Most of these keyboards offer three options to choose from - brown, blue, and red switches.
The blue switches come with a clicky sound and a great feeling when you press down the keys. You’ll also find them useful if you live in a dorm or share your room with others - but unfortunately, that also makes them expensive.

The red switches are a cheaper option, as they lack that ‘clicky’ sound. But if you live in a quiet space, that shouldn’t be a problem. The brown switches offer a mix of red and blue switches.
