The Japan Independent Games Aggregate has announced BitSummit Gaiden, an online indie games event that will run from June 27 to 28 and replace BitSummit The 8th Bit, which would have run from May 9 to 10 at the Kyoto International Exhibition Hall Miyako Messe, but was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

BitSummit Gaiden’s main events include:

  • Live streaming through the BitSummit’s Twitch channels
  • The ability to chat with developers through the BitSummit Discord
  • The establishment of a “virtual show floor”
  • Influencer live streaming
  • Play demos of games curated by the BitSummit Committee
