The most prominent symbols of the Tea Party Movement that began in 2009 are the wide variety of tea party flags. These flags are proudly displayed by the hundreds no matter where the event is held. Typically, these flags are historical flags dating back to the American Revolutionary War. With their warning "Don't Tread On Me" and the image of the coiled rattlesnake, these popular flags are a striking image and send a strong message that won't soon be forgotten.

The most popular tea party flags are the Gadsden Flag, First Navy Jack Flag, and the Culpeper Flag. All three flags display the aforementioned phrase of "Don't Tread On Me." The Gadsden Flag is yellow and displays a coiled timber rattlesnake. The First Navy Jack Flag consists of red and white stripes with an uncoiled snake. The Culpeper Flag is white with the timber rattlesnake sandwiched between the phrases "Liberty or Death" and "Don't Tread On Me."

There are, of course, many different ways in which one can display these enormously popular flags which have seen a massive resurgence in recent years. For the many tea party events and rallies held across the country, these flag and icons are often fastened to any pole or stick to fly high above the crowd. This rudimentary form of portraying these flags may look cheap, but it works. Many have found that simple PVC piping works best, as it is lightweight, somewhat flexible and easy to manage; although it cannot be broken down into smaller parts for easy transport unless you have connector pieces. Flags can be fastened to these poles by either tying the flag to the pole with a string or puncturing a hole in the pipe and using a simple snap hook attachment.

Of course, these tea party flags can also be used on your home or residential flagpoles using a basic halyard rope. If doing so, 3' x 5' flags are the most popular size to use for this application as it can be seen over great distances. Flags kept outside on a regular basis will need to be manufactured with synthetic materials such as polyester or nylon as these fabrics resist weathering better than natural-fiber -flags such as cotton

If you don't have a tea party near you and don't own a flagpole on your property, you can also fly these flags onboard your car. Car flag kits are often available for a wide variety of flags. These flags attach to your backseat window and are sealed in place by simply rolling up the window. As you can see, there are many ways to fly those tea party flags. Whether at a tea party rally, in your front lawn or on your car, you can always find ways to show off your patriotism and love for individual freedom and be proud while doing it.
