Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will offer up puzzles in the form of Animus Anomalies.

Ubisoft's Damien Leyris said:
In the world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the player is going to be able to encounter these [Animus] Anomalies. The Anomalies are set around gameplay challenges and puzzles that need to be solved to be completed. There’s going to be several of them in the world; there [was] one in the demo.

The Anomalies are somewhat similar to the portals found within Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, whereby players are transported back and forth between different timeframes and periods. Leyris said these are far more integrated than what we’ve seen before.

Leyris continued:
It’s defintely a more seamless approach in the world. When the player is exploring the world… they’ll be able to spot interesting, visually attractive locations. When they arrive there, they’ll realise that something’s wrong and there is an Anomaly there. Then, they’ll enter the puzzle.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla heads to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Stadia and Windows PC via Uplay, and Epic Games Store. It’s current-gen release date is set for November 17.

Different portals and the timelines and trying to get around that would be fun definitely. I mean that would means in DLC there will be tangent quests too. Something that people who are playing AC would surely love. I have seen some of such concepts work in other games as well.
