Are people really okay with spending £180 on a remake?

Let's assume Final Fantasy VII Remake is broken into 3 parts, and that's not counting all the special editions, and what's likely a complete edition after all parts are out.

Why would you spend that much on it? I mean is it because it's FF7? It doesn't help that marketing is somewhat misleading, and I wouldn't blame you if you thought you got the full game in April.
