Are companies monies being wasted on CGI trailers?

Does CGI trailers increase revenue in sales or is it a waste of money? Do you pay attention to CGI trailers or do you prefer gameplay trailers instead?

I think without CGI trailers, there would be no demand for those games. Because lack of trailers and good CGI, it'd be harder to compete. It'd be like being indie developers who can't afford CGI trailers and try to make money and promote the content. I think CGI trailers on web make the most demands from gamers.
