With 2022 being halfway through, anime fans are eagerly anticipating the year's forthcoming feature releases. Fans were treated to a promising start in 2022, with highly anticipated anime shows and films that kept them riveted to their screens. The highlights of spring have been Birdie Wing, Trapped in a Dating Sim, Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It, and more. Thankfully, there's more on the way, and the line-up is certain to wow. Without further ado, here are the five upcoming anime movies of 2022.

1. Alice and Therese’s Illusion Factory

The talented writer behind Black Butler and Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms is back with a new original film. Alice And Therese's Illusion Factory is a first-love fantasia, according to Mari Okada. Despite the lack of an official summary for the film, Okada describes it as a film about young people trapped in an uncertain world where love is their only weapon. The audience may look forward to an emotional film with a novel romance narrative. Unfortunately, there is no official news on when the film will be released. According to many reports, the film will be released in late 2022.

2. Isekai Quartet: Another World

Chibi-style anime is always entertaining to watch, especially when it incorporates popular characters from several series. Characters from Overlord, Re: Zero Starting Life in Another World, Saga of Tanya The Evil, Cautious Hero, and KonoSuba will appear in the Isekai Quartet Movie: Another World crossover event. The teaser confirms the introduction of new characters, while the graphic art for the film highlights returning characters and teases new cast members. On June 10, 2022, the film will be released in Japan for the first time.

3. Black Clover Movie

Black Clover would be at the top of the list if seasoned anime viewers had to choose a successor to Naruto. It is widely regarded as one of the finest shonen anime series ever made. On the manga's seventh anniversary, a trailer for the highly anticipated Black Clover film was released. Production on the picture began in early 2021, according to sources, and it is expected to hit theatres in 2023. There is currently no official storyline synopsis for the upcoming film. Fans are split on whether the film will take an entirely new direction or follow a manga story arc. Even though there isn't much information available, fans should expect a complete trailer before the end of the year.

4. Suzume no Tojimari

Following the success of Your Name and Weathering With You, fans hoped that filmmaker Makoto Shinkai would make his next picture as quickly as possible. Suzume no Tojimari will follow the same visual style and depict the narrative of a seventeen-year-old Suzume who discovers a strange door. She unlocks the door, unleashing havoc and carnage over the land as more of these doors open around the country. As one may expect from Makoto Shinkai, the narrative will deal with difficult issues and concepts. While the teaser doesn't reveal much, one thing is certain: the graphics are breath-taking. In Japan, the film will be released on November 11, 2022. An official release date for the North American version has yet to be announced.

5. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

The renowned franchise is due to debut the Dragon Ball movie this year, which will feature an adversary army known as the Red Patrol Army. The next Dragon Ball Movie will be the twenty-first film in the Dragon Ball franchise, as well as the first CG Dragon Ball animation. Fans are split on this announcement, but many are eager to see what mangaka Akira Toriyama has in store. The story will revolve around two new powerful androids produced by the Red Patrol Army in order to exact revenge on Goku and his family. The movie has already wowed Japanese viewers, but the rest of the world is still waiting for it to be released.
