13 Sentinels Aegis Rim became Vanillaware's biggest hit as one of the finest games of 2020. Now that it has been converted to Nintendo Switch in 2022, the visual novel/JRPG combination has a new chance to reach a wider audience with a release that isn't restricted by pandemic lockdowns.

Vanillaware's developers have always made distinctive games. The stunning high-resolution 2D art design has produced some unforgettable memories. Whether it's the massive dragons in Dragon's Crown or the Japanese folklore-inspired Muramasa: Demon Blade, the company has a distinct look that sets them apart. With its wonderfully drawn characters and engaging narrative, 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim maintains that visual style. This list has been developed with beginners in mind now that the game has been launched on the Nintendo Switch.

1. Adjust The Difficulty

13 Sentinels' visual novel elements don't give anything that necessitates a change in the game's difficulty. For individuals who are unfamiliar with strategy games, however, it is recommended that they start with the Normal or Casual modes.

All of the fighting scenarios take place in the game's Destruction mode. It's a mix of real-time strategy and tower defence techniques. It's not overly complex, but it does provide some unexpected hurdles, especially on the Switch owing to exclusive upgrades.

2. Interact With Everyone And Everything

13 Sentinels Aegis Rim is a visual novel with a lot of talks and interactions to be had. By clicking the X/B button, you can explore each location and converse and/or interact with everything.

When the player isn't clear why the plot isn't moving forward, it's usually because the player has overlooked something that has to be interacted with. Some objects require interaction with the Triangle/X button, which will then be saved in the Thought Cloud.

3. Make Use Of The Thought Cloud

As previously indicated, pressing the Triangle or X button on the Switch interacts with crucial items and events. The protagonist's Thought Cloud stores these significant events or comments, depending on whom one has spoken with. It's a technique for the game to employ the inner voice of a character as a gameplay mechanic.

When important moments and phrases are saved in the Thought Cloud, the game will tell the user. These inner thoughts are necessary for the player to go through the game and gain a better understanding of the characters, their friends, and the emotional events that are unfolding around them.

4. Read Everything

With the Mystery Files in 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, there is a lot of reading material to unlock and consume. The Mystery Files serve as an encyclopaedia for players to learn about the game's narrative and major events.

These Mystery Files can be unlocked either going through the game's story or by using Mystery Points to unseal them. These Mystery Points are gained in the game's Destruction Mode through fighting. However, it is preferable to complete all of the game's story sections before moving on to the combat scenarios.

5. Upgrade The Terminal

There are a lot of upgrades to spend Metachips on in 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, but the Terminal should always be upgraded first. The goal should be to get the Meta System to Level 10 as soon as possible. The gamers will be able to increase their Metachip Magnification by 6 levels as a result of this.

This will boost the quantity of Metachips the player receives from Destruction Mode fight wins. The increased number of Metachips will allow players to devote more time to other upgrades in 13 Sentinels, such as the Sentinels' weaponry.
