Even if you aren't the world's largest car fan, Forza Horizon 5 does an excellent job of combining exploration with racing, so there's something for everyone. Forza Horizon games, on the other hand, are mostly on racing. Forza Horizon 5 is unquestionably one of the finest racing games for novices, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of racing like a pro.

There are several tips and tactics that can help rookie drivers drive like veterans and veterans drive like professionals. These driving tips are designed for Forza Horizon 5, but they may be used to practically any arcade or simulation racing game.

1. Practice Playing Against Bots

While it may be tempting to get right into online racing, this is not the best course of action. Instead of diving right in, spend some time learning the game's mechanics and how the cars handle.

Racing against bots is the greatest method to do it. In Forza Horizon 5, you can adjust the complexity of the bots as you progress, so you never have to worry about them being too sluggish. Completing events versus bots is one of the quickest ways to level up and unlock new cars, so there's no excuse not to try.

2. Gradually Reduce Assists

There are amazing player aids for newbies in Forza Horizon 5, whether it's steering assists, braking assists, or a rewind option. Most assists should be turned on at first, and you should gradually wean yourself off of them over time.

Because you won't be able to utilise rewind in online racing, it's the first assist you should try to get rid of. To get more control over your car, you'll want to disengage traction and stability control at some point. Manual gear shifts may improve lap times greatly, but this is only suggested if you play with a wheel. On the controller, you'll probably want to keep it on automatic.

3. Consider Using The Chase Camera

Many gamers like to utilise the cockpit camera because it enhances immersion. While this is true, it is far from the greatest camera for racing. Because it is behind the automobile, the chase camera provides the best perspective. You'll be able to see where your automobile is in relation to other vehicles, making it easier to overtake them without collision.

There are many lovely places to visit in the game, but you can't take your eyes off the road, and pursuit cam provides the finest view. You can switch to cockpit view if you have a wheel, but it's not optimal for controller gamers.

4. Make Use Of Your Brakes

Although Forza Horizon 5 is an arcade racing game, it does not mean you can simply floor it the entire time. While this is true in many other arcade races, Horizon 5 will need you to activate your brakes at some point.

In a race against bots, you can definitely get away with crashing into every obstacle, but it won't work against other people online. On steep corners, you'll have to brake, and on milder turns, you'll have to take your foot off the throttle. Driving at full power isn't the only option.

5. Choose The Best Time To Overtake

Because you won't be starting many races from the front row in Forza Horizon 5, knowing when to overtake other vehicles is crucial. Many players mistakenly believe that every corner is an opportunity to pass, but this is not the case. Straights and sharp corners are more conducive to overtaking than other sections of the track.

Stay in the slipstream of other vehicles on the straights and slingshot past them. Brake late and take the inside of the corner to overtake while approaching a tight turn. You must time your brakes properly, or you will crash into the barrier if you are even a fraction of a second late.

6. Ensure That You Hit The Apexes

To improve lap times, it's critical to hit the peak of a corner when taking a turn. The apex is the point where your car is closest to the inside of the bend, for those unfamiliar with the racing word. Although not all turns are structured the same, each one has an apex that you should target in order to complete it as swiftly as possible.

It's critical to begin braking before entering the turn, coast through the apex, and then gradually accelerate as you exit the corner. If you brake while turning, you risk losing traction and missing the apex.

7. Maintain Your Position In The Slipstream

In Forza Horizon 5, you may draught by following closely behind other vehicles. This will create a slipstream, which you may exploit to slingshot past the automobile in front of you. Drafting decreases drag and gives your automobile a modest speed boost that you may take advantage of.

You should be able to win the race as long as you stay in the slipstream of other cars. Even if you don't have one of the quickest vehicles in the game, drafting will keep you close to the group.

8. Be Aware Of The Terrain, The Time Of Day and The Weather

In Forza Horizon 5, you won't have to worry about snow or ice, but the weather, topography, and time of day all have an impact on your driving. In the wet, the vehicle has less grip and is a little jittery. When driving in a sandstorm, everything appears to be the same, which might cause you to lose track of your destination.

If your automobile is constructed for it, driving in the mud is surprisingly simple. However, because there is less traction, it is critical to use caution during rally racing to avoid excessive wheelspin. Driving at night is extremely tough since it's impossible to see what's ahead of you.

9. Drive Smoothly And Evade Collisions

In Forza Horizon 5, racing clean earns you additional points, thus it's in your best advantage to avoid other players while trying to win races. It will be tough to drive cleanly at first since you will hit every barrier and car in the game, but you will quickly become a clean racer.

Furthermore, if you have a convoy with which you like to play, being a skilled driver will gain you a good reputation. No one loves a rammer, so if you want to make friends in Mexico, you'll have to learn to race clean.

10. Practice, Practice, Practice

Ask yourself what went wrong and why it happened when you miss a turn or hit with another car. If you made the turn too quickly the first time, slow down the following time. It might be as easy as losing focus for a fraction of a second, causing you to collide with another player and lose the race.

You won't improve nearly as rapidly if you don't think about your faults and how to rectify them. You'll have to put in the work to become a Forza Horizon 5 pro driver.

A really good list. One thing I would highly recommend is to not use those easy money "cheat" tracks that are user created.

It ruins the game economy auction house and sucks when everyone has hundreds of millions of credits the same day they started playing. The XP granted from these races also ruins progression so... Just don't do it.
